Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Molecular Microbiology/Bacterial Infection Biology/Chemical Biology
A Postdoctoral Research Fellow position is available at the Department of Medical Biology, Faculty of Health Sciences, with the research group for Host-Microbe Interactions at UiT The Arctic University of Norway.
The position is a fixed-term, full-time (100%) role for a duration of 3 years. The successful candidate will work on an emerging project area headed by Prof. Christian Lentz, focusing on how bacterial pathogens functionally adapt to their host and antibiotics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the research project, design and execute experiments.
- Supervise students and contribute to teaching activities (up to 10%).
- Develop research ideas and strategies within the project framework.
- Collaborate with local, national, and international partners.
The workplace is at UiT in Tromsø. The candidate will have access to state-of-the-art core facilities including bioimaging, FACS, proteomics/metabolomics, genomics, and animal experimentation.
Krav
- Completion of a relevant PhD degree in molecular microbiology, bacterial infection biology, chemical biology, or a related field is required.
- Applicants must demonstrate a strong academic track record and a solid publication list.
- Candidates must possess strong documented skills in at least one area such as bacterial pathogenesis, cellular microbiology, or bacterial physiology.
- Fluency in English is required for all applicants.
- The candidate must submit a vision statement outlining how they will strengthen research activities within the group.
