PhD Candidate in Underwater Foundation Models
NTNU is seeking a motivated PhD candidate to join the Norwegian Centre for Embodied AI. This project focuses on developing novel foundation models for underwater robot perception and navigation, aiming to advance capabilities within the underwater domain and ensure unified modeling across air, ground, and marine robot embodiments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct fundamental research on foundation models for underwater robotics.
- Develop implementable methods for onboard robotic autonomy.
- Perform experimental deployments and field evaluations.
- Complete doctoral education and publish high-quality research.
- Collaborate with international research teams and supervise master’s students.
Krav
- You must have a Master's degree in cybernetics, control systems, or an equivalent field with strong training in robotics, computer vision, or machine learning.
- Your education must correspond to a five-year Norwegian degree program with at least 120 credits at the master's level.
- You must have a strong academic background with an average grade from your master's degree equivalent to a B or better on the NTNU grading scale.
- You must meet the specific admission requirements for the faculty's doctoral program.
- You must be physically present and available at the institution on a daily basis for professional and social interaction.
