Stillingsbeskrivelse
Rådgiver Grunnundersøkelser
Do you want to start your career in geotechnical engineering by working close to real project challenges - both in the field and in the office? At COWI, we are now looking for a Consultant for Geotechnical Field Investigations based in Oslo who wants to combine practical fieldwork on drilling rigs with engineering work and data interpretation.
With us, you will have a central role in projects where ground conditions, data quality and sound professional assessments are essential for success. You will work on development and infrastructure projects across Norway, where ground investigations are a critical basis for further planning and design.
A central role in complex projects - with strong development opportunities
In this role, you will be closely involved in the full lifecycle of ground investigations - from planning to execution and reporting - with a particular focus on fieldwork. You will become part of a strong professional environment within geotechnical engineering and ground investigations, where collaboration across disciplines and projects is a natural part of everyday work.
With us, you will contribute to projects such as:
- Large-scale infrastructure projects, such as Oslofjordforbindelsen, involving tunnels, subsea conditions and complex geotechnical challenges
- Major national road projects, such as E39 Mandal-Blørstad, with varied ground conditions and extensive investigation needs
- Power grid projects, such as Ny Forbindelse Hamang-Bærum-Smestad, with important interfaces between geotechnical engineering, hydrogeology and engineering geology
- Projects for industry and data centres
These projects often involve challenging geology, soft soils, transition zones to rock and strict requirements for documentation and quality - making your role important from day one.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Participating actively in geotechnical fieldwork on drilling rigs (total soundings, CPTU, soil sampling, installation of instrumentation, etc.) linked to projects across Norway
- Logging soil and rock conditions and ensuring high quality in collected field data
- Coordinating and communicating with drilling crews and subcontractors
- Contributing to the interpretation of field and laboratory data
- Preparing and contributing to geotechnical data reporting
- Using Field Manager, ArcGIS and other tools to structure and present data
A significant part of the work will take place in the field, where you will have a direct impact on the quality of project deliverables.
What we offer:
- The opportunity to expand your experience through exciting projects
- Strong opportunities for personal development through individual development plans, COWI Academy and the COWI Connect mentor programme
- National and international collaboration across organisations and disciplines
- An active company culture with social and sports activities, salary gatherings and company cabins
- Flexible working hours with a home office arrangement, five weeks of holiday and time off between Christmas and New Year
Krav
- You have relevant education at master's level within geotechnical engineering or geology.
- You have 0-3 years of experience in the field.
- You communicate well in Norwegian, both written and spoken.
- You have an interest in and motivation for working on drilling rigs in the field.
- You work in a structured way and focus on quality in your deliveries.
