Technical Support Engineer

At Kongsberg Maritime, we develop technology that enables safer, more sustainable and efficient operations at sea. We are now strengthening our Technical Support team and are primarily looking for candidates with Electrical & Automation competence. We also welcome applicants with strong Mechanical & Hydraulic expertise.

The position is part of Global Customer Support (GCS) within Handling Systems, Subsea & Special Purpose (SSP). Our team supports a global fleet of advanced handling equipment used within the Seismic, Subsea and Oceanography segments. Working closely with customers, service personnel and product specialists worldwide, you will help ensure reliable operations and continuous improvement of our systems.

This is primarily an office-based role located in Ålesund or Hjørungavåg. For those interested, there may occasionally be opportunities to participate in commissioning, upgrade and service activities globally. International travel is not a requirement for this position.

What you will be doing

• Provide technical support for our handling systems portfolio and customers worldwide.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, automation, mechanical and hydraulic issues.
• Support service personnel during maintenance, commissioning and upgrade activities.
• Prepare technical documentation, recommendations and spare parts advice.
• Contribute to product improvements, technical reviews and knowledge sharing.
