Lead Engineer Mechanical

We are looking for a Lead Engineer Mechanical to join our Power & Controls Engineering department in Tranby. The offices are centrally located 10 minutes from Drammen and 30 minutes from Oslo. In this role, you will hold technical responsibility for the mechanical engineering delivery within defense projects, ensuring robust design solutions, compliance with requirements, and effective coordination across disciplines and stakeholders.

What will you be doing?

• Lead and manage all mechanical engineering activities in accordance with Aker Solutions’ Engineering policies and governance framework.
• Define and govern mechanical architecture, concepts, and design solutions from early phase through delivery.
• Plan, execute, and control the mechanical design scope within projects.
• Ensure compliance with applicable defense standards, requirements, and lifecycle constraints.
• Translate system and project requirements into mechanical specifications and design solutions.
• Lead technical dialogue with customers, suppliers, and relevant certification or approval authorities.
• Support system-level testing, qualification, and preparation for operational readiness.
• Mobilize, guide, and coordinate mechanical engineering resources within the project organization.
• Identify, manage, and mitigate mechanical risks, interfaces, and key technical decisions.
