Senior Design Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join our Power & Controls Engineering department in Tranby. The offices are centrally located 10 minutes from Drammen and 30 minutes from Oslo. In this role, you will take responsibility for mechanical design within defense projects, contributing deep technical expertise, and ensuring high-quality design solutions in line with established engineering standards and processes.

What will you be doing?

• Hold responsibility for mechanical design of products and components.
• Perform all assigned technical activities in accordance with Aker Solutions’ Policy for Engineering.
• Contribute to the successful execution of the design process within your assigned scope.
• Create, check, and approve materials, drawings, and technical documentation in accordance with applicable standards.
• Perform tolerance analyses and ensure design‑for‑manufacture and assembly.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain functions.
• Support and participate in design reviews, and contribute to continuous improvement of design solutions and ways of working.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation and bills of materials (BOMs).
