Engineering associated with the manufacturing process. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.

The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Downstream Technical Manager will manage packaging area for the delivery of the site objectives in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost to successfully delivery the day, the week, the quarter, and the year. The manager will work closely with the Operations team, Process Engineering & Validation Manager, Utilities, Facilities, and Security Manager, and the capital projects manager.

The role is predicted to be 80% focused on the run (immediate quarter priorities) and 20% focussed on change (4 to 24 months range priorities).

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Compliance: Ensure all staff and contractors work to site ESH policies and GMP requirements. Ensure compliance responses (Concern Reports, ATS, Quality Events, CAPAs, Change Controls) are updated regularly and closed on time.
• Breakthrough Strategy: Develop and implement annual and strategic improvement in maintenance across the Downstream function covering asset reliability, risk management, and problem solving.
• Improvement: Develop relationship with operational leaders to agree improvement programs to reduce downtime and improve OEE.
• Talent Development: Work with existing engineering manager and other functional leads in the development of site talent.
