We are currently looking for a Maritime Trainee to join our team. As a trainee at VARD, you will gain hands-on experience across our value chain and work alongside skilled colleagues in an international environment. Through the well-established 18-month Maritime Trainee Programme, delivered in collaboration with the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association, you will combine practical experience with five academic modules hosted in Norway, Copenhagen, Singapore, and London. The programme starts in August 2027 and offers a unique opportunity to develop your professional skills, expand your network, and build a strong foundation for a future career in the maritime industry.
Duties and responsibilities
As part of the trainee programme, you will gain experience across three different business areas, providing valuable insight into the full VARD value chain and how our teams work together to deliver world-class vessels. Potential rotations include:
- Design & Engineering
- Planning & Project Execution
- Shipbuilding Production
- Innovation & Technology Development
Krav
- You must be in the final year of your master's degree or have recently completed an MSc within Ship Design, Marine Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Hydrodynamics, Renewable energy, or similar fields.
- You must possess fluent English skills.
- You should have a strong interest in the maritime industry and be eager to learn and grow.
- You must be flexible, structured, and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- You should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- You must be able to identify yourself with the VARD values of Craftmanship, Salesmanship, and Fellowship.
