Software Engineer - Product Engineering
Varnish Software is a Scandinavian-based tech company developing caching technology for some of the world's biggest players in the content delivery market. We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our new Product Engineering team to build new products, including a Data Fabric suite of products designed to address infrastructure challenges.
What You Will Do
- Develop tools primarily in Go, with Rust for critical high-performance components.
- Build self-hosted, distributed systems that deploy across a wide range of customer environments.
- Participate in architecting the "Data Fabric" suite, solving complex concurrency, networking, and data consistency challenges.
- Take ownership of entire components, from the initial RFC/design phase through to implementation and testing.
- Drive innovation by challenging architectural assumptions and proposing alternative technical approaches.
- Contribute to a culture of high code quality, writing maintainable, testable code and participating in rigorous code reviews.

Krav
- You have strong experience in backend software development.
- You possess a deep understanding of computer science fundamentals, concurrency, and distributed systems.
- You are comfortable navigating the complexities of self-hosted software and infrastructure like Docker, Kubernetes, and Linux.
- You are a self-driven individual who manages time effectively and takes initiative.
- You must have the legal right to work in Norway or hold unrestricted work authorization within the EU/EEA.
