Software Developer

Squarehead is looking for a developer to help us advance our world-leading acoustic systems, used for applications such as monitoring autonomous vessels. Our technology currently protects both civilian and military installations in Norway and allied nations around the world. We’re a small team in the software department who solve interesting problems around our industrial products, primarily in the maritime sector.

What you’ll do

Our main product is an array of 100+ microphones, which, combined with some clever maths and signals processing, enables us to listen in a direction. This allows us to detect and locate faults in machinery. The code that runs on the array is written in modern C++, where performance, clean code, safety, and collaboration really matter. The main responsibility of the code is to continuously sample the microphones, run the necessary DSP and machine learning algorithms, and turn this into detection information. This is then made available via network APIs to our frontend applications, together with audio and video streams.
