Site EHS Lead
On behalf of one of our clients, we are looking for a Site EHS Lead.
Job Description:
- Lead and manage the EHS project site team members to provide support on implementing the Site EHS Management System.
- Implement and maintain the Site Environmental, Health & Safety Management System, ensuring compliance with all relevant statutory, regulatory, contractual and company requirements.
- Implement and maintain the Site Security Management System, ensuring compliance with all relevant requirements.
- Define and monitor actions to improve EHS performance in construction and commissioning, reducing the likelihood and severity of EHS events and security breaches.
- Monitor the effectiveness of site-related rules defined in the Site PSS / EHS Plan and take appropriate actions in the event of non-compliance.
- Manage programs for environmental protection, including permits for air emissions, hazardous waste, and wastewater management.
- Ensure full implementation of company standards, procedures, and EHS directives at the site.
- Monitor the fulfillment of EHS contractual requirements by subcontractors and implement an EHS subcontractor audit program.
- Ensure all site EHS events (accidents, incidents, near-misses) are recorded, reported, investigated, and analyzed.
- Advise site management on legal exposure and EHS concerns related to site decisions.
- Ensure compliance with Norwegian regulations, including the Construction Client Regulations (byggherreforskriften) and Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations.
- Deliver Working Environment Act awareness training to designers and project teams.
Requirements
- Several years of experience in EHS and working at a construction site.
- Expert knowledge of local EHS legislation and international EHS regulatory knowledge.
- Experience with independent standards organizations and certification programs such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- High proficiency in both English and Norwegian (oral and written).
- Strong experience working in a matrix organization.
- Great communication and influencing skills with the ability to navigate a multi-cultural environment.
