About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Process Engineer specializing in Process Control to support the safe and efficient operation of our oil and gas facilities. This is a unique opportunity to shape and strengthen process control capability. You will play a key role in developing and optimizing the process control philosophy during the engineering phase, ensuring robust, safe, and efficient operations.
The primary location for this role is Oslo (Fornebu), Norway, but we also welcome candidates based elsewhere in Europe, particularly in the UK, Italy, and France.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and optimize process control strategies for oil and gas production and processing facilities
- Prepare and maintain process control documentation, including control narratives, Cause & Effect charts, and P&IDs
- Act as a checker for SCDs and logic diagrams produced by others
- Support facility startups, shutdowns, and commissioning activities
- Support process safety initiatives, including alarm management, safety instrumented systems (SIS), and HAZOP recommendations
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, environmental regulations, and company safety policies
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with suppliers and clients on the development of documentation to ensure robust process control systems are in place
- Act as a link between the Process Engineering team and the Instrumentation team
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related engineering discipline is required.
- You must have 8–15 years of experience in process engineering and process control within the oil and gas industry.
- A solid understanding of process control principles and PID loop tuning is essential.
- You must possess a strong understanding of how process properties influence process control.
- Fluency in English is required for this role.
