Senior Platform / DevOps Engineer

Role Overview
As a Senior Platform / DevOps Engineer in our Backend & Infrastructure team, you will own and evolve the cloud infrastructure, automation, and platform reliability that Spenn’s services run on. Working in close tandem with our backend & frontend engineers, you’ll enable fast, safe, and automated delivery across the engineering organization, and help keep our platform secure, scalable, and highly available.
Key Responsibilities
- Cloud infrastructure: Design, provision, and operate Spenn’s AWS infrastructure using Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Container orchestration: Build and manage Kubernetes clusters and workloads.
- CI/CD automation: Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub and GitHub Actions.
- Reliability & observability: Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident-response practices.
- Service delivery: Establish and professionalize service-delivery practices, including incident management, on-call, runbooks, and clear SLAs/SLOs.
- Security & compliance: Apply security best practices across infrastructure and pipelines.
- Developer enablement: Improve the developer experience through tooling, automation, and self-service infrastructure.
- AI-Driven Efficiency: Utilize and advocate for AI tools to streamline operations, automation, and documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Several years of experience in DevOps, site reliability, or infrastructure engineering with the ability to own systems independently.
- Hands-on experience operating production workloads on AWS and managing Kubernetes clusters.
- Strong proficiency with Terraform, infrastructure as code, and GitHub Actions for CI/CD automation.
- Full professional proficiency in Norwegian (or Danish/Swedish) and English.
- Demonstrated active use of AI tools like GitHub Copilot or Claude to improve operational efficiency.
