Head of Payments, Tieto Banktech

Tieto Banktech Payments is a leading provider of payments and cash management software and SaaS solutions for banks, serving both retail and corporate customers through secure, scalable account-to-account payment and liquidity management solutions.

Our solutions form part of the core financial infrastructure in the Nordic market and are embedded in national payment flows that are critical for banks and society. Following a sustained focus on strengthening our offering, execution capability, and market positioning, we are now appointing a Head of Payments to lead and further develop the business.

The Opportunity -- a transformation and growth mandate

This is a senior executive leadership role with full responsibility for the Payments business, including strategy, people leadership, financial performance, R&D, and delivery. As Head of Payments, you will lead a large and complex organization spanning product development, delivery, sales, and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overall leadership of the Payments business, including full P&L responsibility.
  • Defining and executing the Payments strategy in line with Banktech and Group priorities.
  • Unifying and scaling the Payments business while protecting business continuity and delivery quality.
  • Driving commercial acceleration, including market prioritisation, international go-to-market execution, pipeline discipline, and partner strategy.
  • Ensuring robust governance, risk management, compliance, and audit readiness.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership of large, complex business units or portfolios within payments, transaction banking, regulated fintech, or banking software.
  • Demonstrated P&L ownership and a track record of driving profitable growth.
  • Experience with software, platform, or SaaS-based business models.
  • Proven ability to scale offerings from strong core or regulated markets into international contexts.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including executive-level customer and partner engagement.
  • Fluency in English and a Nordic language.
