At NOV, we're transforming drilling operations by combining engineering expertise, automation, and data analytics. As a Data Performance Engineer, you'll play a key role in helping customers maximize the performance of advanced drilling automation systems through meaningful data insights and operational recommendations.

What you'll be doing

As part of our Performance team, you will:

  • Analyze drilling and automation data to identify performance trends and optimization opportunities.
  • Review and validate data from customer drilling automation systems to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Develop clear, insightful performance reports and dashboards using modern data visualization tools.
  • Work closely with customers to establish KPIs and support operational planning sessions.
  • Translate complex data into practical recommendations that improve drilling efficiency and equipment performance.
  • Investigate data anomalies and continuously improve analytical methods.
  • Support troubleshooting activities by providing data-driven insights to internal teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve Performance Center processes, technologies, and customer experience.
  • Collaborate with engineering, service, and customer teams to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • You must have 3+ years of experience in a related field.
  • You must be proficient in the MS Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio.
  • You must possess strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate complex datasets.
  • You must have experience creating reports and presenting insights clearly to stakeholders.
  • You must have some knowledge of drilling fundamentals and drilling equipment.
  • You must be willing to travel occasionally when required.
