Senior Mechanical Engineer - Rotating Equipment

NECON is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a long-term assignment with one of our clients in Bergen. Be a part of a highly skilled engineering team, working on a range of projects from early-phase to turnkey projects.

Typical work tasks

• Perform mechanical design and engineering to develop efficient solutions across all project phases-from early concept development and detailed design to manufacturing, installation and operation.
• Act as Mechanical Lead in projects, ensuring technical quality and efficient execution.
• Be responsible for delivering mechanical discipline documentation within budget, scope and schedule for all project phases.
• Develop and review mechanical philosophies, specifications and design requirements.
• Specify, select and size rotating mechanical equipment.
• Follow-up equipment suppliers throughout project execution, including technical clarification, documentation review and quality control.
• Develop and verify mechanical deliverables such as datasheets, calculations, technical reports, study/FEED documentation and system descriptions.
• Coordinate closely with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated, high quality project execution aligned with cost and schedule targets.
• Serve as a mechanical specialist towards clients, providing technical guidance and contributing to strong customer relationships.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by developing methodology, tools and competence within the Mechanical Department.
