JAPEX Norge is seeking an Accountant to join our Stavanger office and support our ambitious growth agenda in Norway. This is a full-time, permanent role offering responsibility and development opportunities for the right candidate.

- Work closely with senior leadership, support in providing accurate financial information to support business decisions.
- Contribute to financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting processes, cash flow management, and compliance activities.
- Be involved in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards and company policies.
- Support audits, tax reporting, and internal control processes while ensuring high standards of accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities & Deliverables
- Control accounting and reconciliation of balance sheet and profit and loss items.
- Follow-up of costs related to exploration, development and operation.
- Accounting treatment of licence interests and joint venture activities.
- Check cash calls and joint interest billing against accounts and budget.
- Follow up the Account Payable function.
- SSB statistics.
- Be involved in the monthly closing activities.
- Be involved in Oil Accounting activities (Production, O/U lift, DD&A).
- Preparation of monthly management accounts.
- Be involved in annual accounts.
- Be involved in reporting to Head Quarter in Tokyo.
- Contribute to budgeting and forecasting.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS.
- Close communication with external accounting company, auditor and in-house resources.
Requirements
- Higher education in accounting, finance or auditing.
- Relevant experience from the petroleum sector.
- Strong proficiency in Excel.
- Familiarity with IFRS accounting standards.
- High degree of accuracy and structure in work.
- Good collaboration skills and a proactive, service-minded attitude.
