HESS Director Environmental Management
As a HESS Director at Nammo, you will report directly to the VP HESS and be part of the Group HESS leadership team, providing strategic leadership within your area of responsibility and contributing to the continued development of Health, Environment, Safety and Security across the Group.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop, maintain and implement Nammo Group’s environmental policies, directives and governance documentation.
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of Nammo Group’s environmental management framework.
- Support sites, legal entities and business units in implementing and improving environmental management systems aligned with recognised standards such as ISO 14001.
- Coordinate environmental data collection, validation and reporting across the Group.
- Plan, coordinate and follow up environmental audits and improvement initiatives across the Group.
- Lead environmental impact assessments and initiatives that strengthen environmental performance and risk awareness.
- Develop environmental capability across the organisation in collaboration with Learning & Development.
- Build strong relationships with Sustainability, Legal, Corporate functions and site HESS teams to strengthen environmental performance across the Group.
Location and travel
The role involves regular travel across Nammo's European operations, with occasional travel to the US. For practical reasons, we expect you to be based in one of the Nordic countries or the UK, within convenient travelling distance of both an international airport and a Nammo site.
Security Clearance
Please note that this position requires you to be eligible for a Norwegian/NATO security clearance and to provide a valid police certificate.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Science or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum five years of experience within environmental management, HSE, quality, manufacturing or continuous improvement.
- Experience working with management systems and internationally recognised standards, such as ISO 14001.
- Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Must be eligible for a Norwegian/NATO security clearance and provide a valid police certificate.
