Engineering Manager

ABB is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Low Voltage Switchgear engineering team. In this role, you will drive technical excellence, manage a talented team of electrical design and manufacturing engineers, and deliver high-quality, cost-effective switchgear solutions to our global customers. You will be responsible for strategic planning, resource allocation, process optimization, and ensuring achievement of contractual and financial targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of electrical design and manufacturing engineers to deliver innovative low voltage switchgear solutions.
• Establish and monitor performance targets for design quality, delivery timelines, and cost-effectiveness with regular technical oversight.
• Ensure compliance with international product standards (IEC 60947, IEC 61439 series, IEC/TR 61641) and electrical safety regulations.
• Maintain and enhance engineering processes, tools, and documentation (ISO 9001 compliance) including the Switchgear Configurator and Global Eplan Library.
• Drive technical standardization and knowledge transfer across different market segments and geographical regions.
• Monitor key business KPIs (TTPT, OTD, DPU) and implement actions to support business line objectives.
• Develop team competencies through coaching, training, and skill matrix management.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and product management teams to optimize production and meet delivery commitments.
• Collaborate with the Global Business Line Switchgear engineering community and external engineering service providers, fostering knowledge sharing, standardization, resource optimization, and the implementation of engineering best practices.
• Foster customer & supplier relationships, gather performance feedback, and drive innovation to enhance product reliability.
