Chartering Manager
Are you a commercially minded maritime professional with a passion for fleet optimisation, contract negotiations, and strategic vessel sourcing? Höegh Autoliners is seeking a highly motivated Chartering Manager to play a key role in ensuring that our fleet capacity remains aligned with market opportunities, customer demand, and long-term strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute vessel chartering activities, including charter-in, charter-out, and vessel acquisition activities.
- Monitor and analyse global vessel markets, including chartering activity, sale and purchase (S&P), newbuilding developments, and recycling trends.
- Identify opportunities and risks within the vessel market and translate these into actionable recommendations for management.
- Develop chartering strategies that support Höegh Autoliners' short-, medium-, and long-term network and capacity requirements.
- Conduct financial and operational analyses of chartering opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, shipowners, financial institutions, and key industry stakeholders.
As a key member of the Global Trade Network organisation, you will contribute to the ongoing development of our fleet and network capabilities through data-driven decision-making, market insight, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree is required, while a Master's degree is considered an advantage.
- Extensive professional experience in vessel operations, trade management, and vessel chartering is essential.
- In-depth knowledge of chartering processes, charter party agreements, and vessel sale and purchase activities is required.
- Strong commercial and analytical skills with the ability to translate market intelligence into business decisions are necessary.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills are required for this role.
- The ability to collaborate effectively across functions, cultures, and geographies is expected.
