Purpose of Position
The Downstream Technical Manager will manage the packaging area to deliver site objectives in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. This role involves balancing immediate operational execution (80%) with long-term strategic improvements (20%).
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Compliance: Ensure all staff and contractors adhere to EHS policies and GMP requirements. Manage quality investigations, CAPAs, and change controls to ensure timely closure.
- Breakthrough Strategy: Develop and implement strategic improvements in maintenance, asset reliability, and risk management.
- Improvement (Kaizen): Collaborate with operational leaders to reduce downtime and improve OEE. Implement a reliability-centered asset care strategy.
- External Focus: Build relationships within the supply chain and regional engineering networks.
- Talent Development: Mentor site talent and support the development of the engineering team.
Requirements
- Professional degree level qualification is required.
- Proven experience in driving a safety culture within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams or projects in a fast-paced and complex setting.
- Experience managing a maintenance team and operating in a regulated environment.
- Strong proficiency in project management, Lean Thinking, and Six Sigma methodologies.
