Senior Joint Venture Auditor

ORLEN Upstream Norway AS is an oil and gas company which is growing and we are searching for a Senior Joint Venture Auditor. This is an exciting opportunity to join an international team of highly motivated and dedicated colleagues, working in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.

In this role you will safeguard the company’s financial interest in assets & licenses by audit activity according to relevant agreements. You will verify that the costs charged by Operators are valid and in accordance with the accounting agreements as well as prevailing accounting practices. The role is part of our Finance department which currently has 23 staff members. You will be part of the Reporting & Internal Control unit and will report directly to the Reporting & Internal Control Manager.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Ensure planning, execution, and reporting of JV audit activities.
  • Represent and act on behalf of the company in JV audits and other dealings with third parties within the scope of assigned responsibilities.
  • Plan audit activities in the company and agree the plan within annual partner forums.
  • Coordinate execution of outbound audits and inbound audit activity on operated assets.
  • Coordinate follow-up items from audit activity and organize audit reporting.
  • Function as the company’s professional resource on JOAs and asset/JV audit.
  • Assist Finance teams and Operational teams on cost distribution structures.
  • Provide services in other related areas (e.g., internal control initiatives, due-diligence work, JV/vendor audit engagements).
  • Participate in License Partner Forums and organize ORLEN Upstream Norway Partner Forums.
  • Coordinate procurement of third-party representatives when the Senior JV Auditor is not conducting the audit.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience from the JV audit discipline and accounting.
  • Fluency in English (oral and written) is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant law and regulations within the oil and gas business on the NCS.
  • Good understanding of JOA interpretation and the local oil and gas market.
