Postdoctoral Researcher in Science-Policy Engagement and Climate Futures
We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position (SKO 1352) in Science-Policy Engagement and Climate Futures at the Oslo Business School at Oslo Metropolitan University. The position is based in the academic unit Public Administration and Governance.
About the Project
The position is part of the ERC-funded research project CAMELOT, which examines how individuals, public institutions, and societies develop the capacity to anticipate and respond to long-term climate risks. The project focuses on the cognitive, emotional, and social foundations of “governance capacities” and how imagination and future-oriented thinking contribute to effective long-term climate governance.
The Position
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to play a central role in CAMELOT, with significant opportunities to shape the empirical and conceptual development of the research. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, implementation, and evaluation of innovative science-policy engagement processes that examine how governance actors develop the capacity to anticipate, imagine, and respond to long-term climate risks.
Main Duties:
- Co-design and implement innovative science-policy engagement processes.
- Design and administer surveys and participatory research activities.
- Coordinate and facilitate workshops with governance actors across multiple European governance contexts.
- Conduct rigorous qualitative and mixed-methods analyses of workshop, interview, observation, and survey data.
- Contribute to the conceptual development of the project's work on imagination, anticipation, and long-term governance capacities.
- Lead and co-author academic publications arising from the project.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in a relevant field such as political science, sustainability science, environmental governance, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience with participatory research methods, stakeholder engagement, or related approaches.
- Strong qualitative analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to publish in peer-reviewed journals.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and coordinate complex research activities.
- Fluency in English, including the ability to communicate research ideas and results in written outputs and presentations.
