Group Engineering Manager

We are a global marine geoscience and technology business. We are pioneers using ground-breaking technology to study what lies beneath the ocean floor. We help energy companies plan ahead, accelerating responsible use of the planet's resources. We provide marine seismic data, imaging products and data processing software.

We're looking for a Group Engineering Manager to join our Technology & Innovation Centre. In this role, you'll lead Shearwater's engineering organisation, ensuring the successful delivery of engineering projects while developing the capabilities, processes and technologies that support our long-term business ambitions.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading and developing the Engineering group within the Technology & Innovation Centre.
  • Managing engineering resources, capabilities and capacity planning to support business objectives and future growth.
  • Driving continuous improvement and modernisation of engineering processes, tools and ways of working.
  • Overseeing the successful delivery of engineering projects, including project planning, milestones, budgets, forecasting and cost control.
  • Providing leadership in Quality and HSE, ensuring best practices are embedded throughout engineering activities and project delivery.
  • Collaborating with Operations, Manufacturing, Commercial, Sales and Support functions on engineering-related matters.
  • Managing relationships with suppliers, consultants and external service providers involved in engineering projects.
  • Acting as a key interface for customers, partners, consortia and governmental organisations participating in engineering and technology development projects.
  • Supporting innovation initiatives and strategic technology development aligned with company goals.
  • Contributing to the delivery of a safe, efficient and high-performing engineering culture.

Requirements

  • You hold a Bachelor's or master’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • You have a minimum of 10 years' experience within an engineering, technology or related industry.
  • You possess previous experience in a mid-management or senior engineering leadership role.
  • You have strong project management experience, including budget planning, forecasting and resource allocation.
  • You demonstrate excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • You have the ability to balance strategic planning with operational delivery and execution.
