We are now looking to hire a VP Electrolysis Technology in Hydro's Corporate Technology Office (CTO).
CTO is responsible for supporting the Hydro organization in successfully developing relevant technology and technological competence targeted at securing Hydro's technological leadership and competitive position within operations and products. In this position, you will oversee electrolysis technology development, support R&D efforts, and contribute directly to Hydro's technology strategy. The role will ensure that research outcomes are translated into operational improvements, to maintain Hydro's technological leadership within electrolysis and materials.

What you will be doing
- Work with R&D projects and activities in electrolysis and material technology.
- Advise on how to utilize technological developments in operational settings across smelters.
- Contribute to updating and shaping Hydro's technology strategy within upstream technology.
- Coordinate research activities between Business Areas to ensure knowledge transfer and strategic alignment.
- Conduct technology watch in electrolysis and materials; communicate insights to ELT and Business Areas.
- Represent Hydro externally, giving talks and maintaining scientific and industry presence.
- Use and expand extensive academic and research networks to strengthen Hydro's upstream capabilities.
Requirements
- You must have 10+ years of experience in aluminium electrolysis and material technology.
- You must possess a PhD-level degree in Engineering, such as Electrolysis, Materials Science, or Metallurgy.
- You must demonstrate strong analytical and strategic capabilities.
- You must have excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build and maintain effective networks.
- You must have working proficiency in both English and Norwegian.
