Maritime Trainee - 2027
At VARD, we create innovative and sustainable solutions for the global maritime industry. Combining future-oriented engineering excellence, cutting-edge technology, and strong teamwork, we design and build some of the world’s most advanced vessels for a wide range of market segments, including offshore energy, naval, fisheries, icebreaking and research.
We are currently looking for a Maritime Trainee to join our team. As a trainee at VARD, you will gain hands-on experience across our value chain and work alongside skilled colleagues in an international environment. Through the well-established 18-month Maritime Trainee Programme, delivered in collaboration with the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association, you will combine practical experience with five academic modules hosted in Norway, Copenhagen, Singapore, and London.
Duties and responsibilities
As part of the trainee programme, you will gain experience across three different business areas, providing valuable insight into the full VARD value chain. Potential rotations include:
- Design & Engineering
- Planning & Project Execution
- Shipbuilding Production
- Innovation & Technology Development
Requirements
- Candidates must be in the final year of their master's degree or have recently completed an MSc in a relevant engineering field.
- Applicants must possess fluent English skills.
- You must be passionate about the maritime industry and eager to learn across different business areas.
- You should be flexible, structured, and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- You must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
