Job Description

Analyst/Senior Analyst - Clean Energy Technologies

At Statkraft, we are dedicated to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Statkraft has been making clean energy possible for over a century. We envision a world that runs entirely on renewable energy. Because in the fight against climate change, we do not see renewable energy as part of the solution -- we believe it must be the solution.

The Global Drivers team (CSG) is Statkraft’s center of expertise on the long term development of the energy system. We are looking for a Renewable Energy analyst/senior analyst based at Statkraft’s Lilleaker office in Oslo. In this role, you will have responsibilities for long term cost and volume forecasts for the key power technologies of the future power markets, with special emphasis on wind power.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Track developments of clean energy technologies globally and in Statkraft markets, identify key drivers and apply qualitative and quantitate analysis to forecast long term developments.
  • Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to develop and improve analytical methods and models for forecasting costs and production across clean energy technologies, including offshore wind, onshore wind, solar PV and batteries.
  • Provide analytical support to auction bidding and business development within clean energy.
  • Communicate insights to decision makers, business/project managers and power market analysts.
  • Take part in strategy and commercial processes relevant to specific markets, and prepare summary memos and presentations to support internal decision-making processes.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in economics, engineering, mathematics, or a related field with strong academic performance.
  • Proven knowledge of renewable energy technologies and energy markets with experience in delivering quantitative analysis.
  • Strong programming skills, specifically in Python or equivalent, for working with large datasets.
  • Ability to work as a team-player who is highly analytical and self-driven with attention to detail.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience is preferred, though exceptional newly graduated candidates will be considered.
  • Must be eligible for security clearance and authorisation.
