About the position
As a Legal Advisor, you will be part of Vår Energi's Legal team, working closely with the business on projects, commercial processes and strategic decisions. Our role is to support the company by providing sound legal advice, enabling informed decision-making, support with compliance to applicable laws and regulations, contribute to effective risk management and safeguard Vår Energi's interests.
You will work closely with the commercial functions, project managers, business developers and management, helping to shape solutions to complex and engaging business challenges.
You will have a varied workday and should be prepared to support a broad range of legal and strategic matters, depending on business activity and company needs. This may include advising business areas and projects, drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements, participating in commercial processes and negotiations, managing disputes and working with external counsel, monitoring regulatory developments and supporting compliance, and contributing to the development of legal standards and best practices.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for a candidate with strong legal expertise, commercial understanding and ability to work in cross functional teams. You should also have the ability to work independently.
You enjoy taking responsibility, taking initiative, and collaborating effectively across disciplines. You are analytical, pragmatic, and able to translate legal and commercial complexity into clear and practical advice. You are able to consider and contribute on strategic decisions.
You have an interest in the oil and gas industry, and preferably have experience working with business clients, either within the industry or in other sectors.
We are looking for individuals with an entrepreneurial mindset, who are motivated by continuous learning, value creation and business impact. You should also have an interest in how digital technologies, data analytics and Artificial Intelligence can support better decision-making and business performance.
Background and experience
- Master's degree in Law (rettsvitenskap) in Norway
- Approximately 5 years of relevant experience from a law firm or an in-house legal role, preferably involving assisting in operational and commercial matters
- Admission to the bar is an advantage, but not a requirement
